Heute ist ein fader Tag, wie er in meinem Leben oft vorkommt. Das Wetter hilft auch nicht. Warum haelt sich der Fruehling nicht an den Kalender?
Gestern in der Messe hat Lincoln an der Fusswaschung teilgenommen. Und die Oele etc. zum Altar gebracht. Ich hab ihm gesagt, er hat mich im Katholischsein schon ueberholt. ;) Unglaublich wie schnell sich manche Dinge aendern.
Am Sonntag werden wir feiern.. wohl zu zweit. Wir freuen uns aber ueber alle telepathischen Gruesse!

I'm a little late, but yesterday the "blog" would not let me in. I don't know why. Anyway, my weekend was quite relaxing. I got to buy some fabric to try out my new sewing machine (thanks to my unbelievable mother-in-law I have one!). I just love fabric stores.. not the employees though. They are too opinionated (with the wrong opinion, that's why).
I got to do some other shopping and watched the Oscars on Sunday night. I didn't make it to the end.. 4 hours. People are crazy.
They say this year the Oscars made history for giving away best actor and best actress Oscars to black actors. I do like that but I am quite disturbed with this so proud proclamation.
Isn't it rather embarassing for the Academy? How fabulous is it to say: "Oh we gave an Oscar to a black actress in the year 2002 for the first time. Please applaud!"
I think it's something to be ashamed of. Also I don't understand how everyone - even the prize recipients - are emphasizing this so much.
I thought we all want to be able to say actor so and so won and not BLACK or WHITE actor so and so won. Color shouldn't matter, right? So why is it PC to stress they were black?
I don't know, maybe I can't understand that since I'm not black and have not had the experience. But I really hope that soon we can leave the skin-descriptive adjectives out when it comes to acknowledging good performance.

Wir kommen an am 24. Mai und bleiben bis zum 12. Juni! Fast drei Wochen!
Ich freu mich schon total, noch dazu muss dann nicht mehr zurueck in die schreckliche ..... :)
Ich erwarte mir natuerlich eine entsprechende Begruessung, also das Uebliche.. roter Teppich, Blaskapelle, kleine Empfangsrede, Buergermeister.. ev. Schluessel der Stadt und Polizeibegleitung fuer die Limousinenfahrt nach hause.
Hoffentlich bring ich diese Woche noch zusammen den ABOUT/ Folder aufzufuellen... mal sehen.
Mir sehen sich bald!
Let it go
There are things in the past one doesn't want to remember.. because it would mean reliving it and it might not be the best experience. Besides it's over so why go back and torment oneself with things that can not be changed.
Ok, it's not that dramatic.
Anyway, there is this song I recently discovered that really brings back a situation I had to face while I was living in Spain. It wasn't fun but since bad situations teach you a lot I don't regret it. The cool thing is that it seems now whenever I remember it, I feel more the
"conclusion" of it all, than anything painful. Just that feeling when you can let go of something and you realize you made it, you "won". It can't harm you anymore.

Also, dieses "blog" oder Tagebuch dient dazu meinen Senf zu verbreiten und alle, die wos mi kennan, an meine Existenz zu erinnern.
Leider ist auf der Site noch kaum was drauf, aber das wird sich bald aendern, echt!
Ich weiss, es ist sehr frustrierend auf links zu klicken und dann kommt eine Error-Meldung.. ich beeil mich eh.

Today is the first day of "blog". It's a lot of pressure to write something smart and unique. I guess I should've prepared a quote or something like that. Instead I will make this short and pretend I'm not embarrassed.
Well.. before I log off.. I'd like to thank .. my husband who made this site for me even though I picked different shades of purple as theme colors.
He has patiently endured my criticism before there was anything to criticize and managed to make me happy anyway.
And because I know how much he enjoys attention I dedicate this entry to him :-P
