Warning - read at your own discretion

This webpage has become somewhat of a challenge. But totally not in a bad way. At first it was me trying to fill it up and now it seems to be taking control a little. It feels like someone is pushing this white paper in front of me asking me to write something. It's a good feeling.

I am a little upset about this war that seems to be coming. I'm not really convinced of its necessity. Also G.W. (no, it's not George Washington... I wish!) is really not good for my stomach. I successfully omitted any reference to 9/11 on its first anniversary, just because I have a really hard time feeling triumphant, plus I can not summon up those historical/serious-but-rather-removed-feelings yet.
Anyway, when G.W. says: "No matter how long it takes, we're going to run them down one by one and bring them to justice." - my stomach becomes very nervous. A mean voice in my head immediately brings up the reference to "christian values" that are supposedly so dear to the man in question and I have a serious situation going on with my digestion.

"No peace without justice, no justice without
forgiveness: I shall not tire of repeating this warning
to those who, for one reason or another, nourish
feelings of hatred, a desire for revenge or the will to
destroy."

I suppose one should stay away from discussing politics and religion. Unfortunately both seem to intrude into my life quite a lot. I apologize in advance for anything someone might find offensive.

Oh, I think politically we are almost twins. What bugs me most is how other Christians/Catholics are so brainswashed (sorry for saying it that way) that they can't see the truth behind the lie. I mean the Gospel is so contrary to so many things our country is doing and people refuse to see it. Hey wasn't it Jesus who said "Those who live by the sword, will die by the sword". I guess people are too scared to see the truth...I have no other explination.

Oh, and btw, who cares what every other country in the world thinks we are Americans we are so much more superior to the rest of them. I hate that mentality, that is so un-Christian. Okay if I don't stop now I will keep going..........

you are both so right - but one is always so helpless. of course you can express your opinion, but obviously there are very few (or perhaps no) politicians who really care about Christian values in the first place - and caring about Christian values in the second place is actually not caring at all! another problem for an 'ordinary' citizen is that you never really know what is going on, who is telling the truth .... at least I don't know. the only thing I am rather sure about is that a person who considers himself or his nation to be morally superior to others, can't be telling the truth, not just in this one matter but (consequently) in many others.

Only way to help is to pray - and never stop - for grace to be able to care about Christian values in the first place. Otherwise there will be a lot of destroing, starting in my home and spreading out till unknown borders - geographically and historically.
