The morning of disaster

My goodness, this is so embarassing. I'm going to go hide. Austria does not deserve this... well, California does neither, but then again they voted!

Ugh. UGH! I can't believe Arnold is *MY* governor.

I'm not happy about this at all. We don't deserve this!!!

I just hope he can find some smart, experienced people to tell him what to do.

yes maryanne, and these smart, experienced people will have to speak very simple english or even simpler german; i am sorry, i hope he won't do much damage ....

Oh, Dinka, this is the first election I cried over. It is amazing how STUPID people are. I mean how can you vote for the Gropenator? It was weird because I poped by an old message board I used to read, and found all these Conservative Right wing Christians supporting this gross guy. And these were the same people who hated Clinton for his consensual affairs.

I am so sad about this, I thought politically it couldn't get any worse than it was, and then look what happened. I am loosing so much faith in American's ability to avoid propaganda and think clearly and critically. This has really caused me to lose so much hope....

I just want to add that the New York times, has a really interesting map with a break down of how people voted in California. Thankfully I live in an area that was very much agains the recall. Arnold as the new California Governor is the only good thing I can think of about moving to Washington (and besides Seattle is close to Vancouver--if we ever need to finally flee from all this country). I so want to move to Canada.

My parents came to the US to flee Russian Communism, and now they tell me that it is getting almost as bad here as it was there, and again like Communist Russia everyone thinks it is all fine and dandy and the US is the best. Grrrrrr.

Tessa my dear, is there any chance you want Arnold back in Austria? I can pack him up and ship him back if you'd like. :-) We don't really need him here.

Hi guys, you might be interested in what Austria says to this election:

Our president: "We are all so proud of you, Arnold!"

Our most popular radio station: "Today is the day, that somehow we all were elected governor!"

Our Secretary of State: "It's amazing how efficient Austrians are around the world!"

Well, that expresses pretty well how Austria reacted to Schwarzenegger's election. Personally I favor Clint Eastwood's comment: "Now the nightmare begins!"

Daniel,

I agree with Clint Eastwood, but those quotes from Austria are funny. :-)

Dinka is an efficient Austrian around the world, I suppose.

well, dear maryanne, I am sorry you don't really need arnold in your country, but you know, I don't really think austrians want him back - sure, some (or a lot of them :-() admire him, but I think that's easy, as long as he stays at safe distance from austria :-) and, you know, hollywood is the place where movies are made, not graz (that's the town where he was born)... I'm sorry, it seems you will have to keep him ...

Could the Austrians take back Bush also? Do you think if I ebayed him any other country would bid? ;)

Part of my German ancestry is actually Austrian (although it is a long story, as they were really Germans brought to a Slavic part of the empire to increase a Germanic presence there), and I am ashamed that this oaf is one of ours. All I need now is for Tom Ammiano to become mayor of San Francisco, so that my ancestry is completely disgraced by Californian politics.

Don't blame me, I voted for McClintock..

Maryanne, If its no problem with you, I would like to drag Schwarzenegger over here and completely reshoot "Terminator 3", cause this was the worst sequel I have ever seen.

Posted by Daniel at October 13, 2003 10:28 AM

Daniel,

It's no problem at all. Take him! TAKE HIM NOW!

:-)

I've never seen any of the Terminators, and I think this is a blessing.
