My family...

... surprised me with a wonderful gift on Mother's Day. Look - how lucky am I?

I had a great Mother's Day. We went to the Dunes for a picnic where Veronika decided to say something for the first time! The weather was nice and warm, so we went to the beach as well. Veronika did not like that, we have it documented - you'll see it in a few days.

It was strange to be wished Happy Mother's Day. I know I'm a mother, but on some level it still hasn't sunk in. It feels like you have some kind of image of "motherhood" and when it's there you expect this state to appear but somehow it's not what you expected. (Gdje je ta Italija?) Probably because you didn't really have an idea what it could feel like anyway. After those first dark months where despair lurks behind every happy moment I must confess I'm glad Mother's Day came when Veronika was 9 months old. It helps too that she is unbelievably cute.

I think you are the most photogenic people I have ever seen. I love that second nap picture. That one is great.
