One day, after children...

I've been addicted to this show, "So you think you can dance", the dance version of American Idol. It's ending tonight and I am hoping with all my heart, it gets picked up for next season. I live vicariously though all the fit and creative dancers. I am so very jealous. I've always loved dance, I've taken a ton of courses and classes growing up and beyond but then well, things happened... like moving to the a** of the world like Valparaiso, or having children and not having money. Anyway, the good thing is, I'm telling myself, one can always dance, because the joy never goes away no matter how unfit (and eventually old) one (=me) is.

I loved this show more than American Idol, because you can't bs yourself out of dancing as well as out of singing. You have to have the body and the training, and if you don't, it will show, whereas some singers will imitate some tricks and sing really really loud or really really high or just keep a note for two minutes and the crowd will be fooled. With dance it's not so easy. Plus there is no Simon Cowell, nor Paula Abdul.

The best part of it all is certainly the absence of Paula.

I love dance -- I danced for 13 years and I was awful start to finish.
