In the series of things you should never say to a pregnant woman

Especially one you don't know and just saw in the mall:
"You are due in March and you are THAT BIG?!!"

Lady, you are far beyond your 40ies and you are that RUDE? No, I didn't say that. I was too dumbfounded. I just wish.

Oh did I get that! AND, after the babies arrived, I'd hear "When are you due?" Sigh. Even my FATHER ... he walked into the hospital room and said "You still look pregnant!" I'd had the baby ... what? ... a few hours prior? Geesh!

But the worst is that one orchestra colleague of mine STILL brings up how huge I was and how hilarious I looked when I'd stand to take a bow. She is in her 50s now ... but she's never had children and sometimes those women are the worst.

Ah well. Hang in there! :-)

Oh, Dinka!

I had someone say, "I can tell it's a girl because your butt is so big."

Seriously!!!!!

I used to get this from my Cuban family and acquaintances. Heck, I still get it and I'm not even pregnant! There's just something about my culture that seems to give people express permission to be completely inappropriate. So I expect it from certain friends and family...but am taken aback when the comments come from anyone else.
