Everything has already been done. The house has been cleaned, the refrigerator is full of food, the tree has been put up and decorated, Mass has been celebrated, fish has been prepared and eaten, and the stockings have been hung with care. It has been a long day. It's all over now but the crying, this year courtesy of a couple of package delivery companies that were unable to get packages to our apartment from countries both near and far. While we await the arrival of those packages, we'll have to busy ourselves with all the other packages under the tree, the cinnamon rolls to be baked in the morning and the dozens of varieties of Christmas cookies that will soon appear.
Merry Christmas, all.
